The live cam is available 24 hours a day. A facility has been provided for visitors to report their experiences. While the majority of the two million surfers have seen nothing, many have reported a variety of 'sightings'. These range from disembodied heads, a tall, thin man in Edwardian dress and a kneeling child, to views of Helena herself.

What visitors have seen.

Sensational find following fire

Some staff members have advanced the view that construction work being carried out in the building may have disturbed her spirit. However, it has led to a sensational discovery. A machine operator has found a phonographic wax cylinder with a recording of Helena singing. While attempting to extinguish a minor fire caused by building debris, he unearthed a mysterious bundle buried in sand in a century-old fire bucket. Wrapped in a piece of rough linen cloth were some scraps of paper, a wax recording cylinder, in almost perfect condition, and a key.

Forensic examination of the cylinder pointed to the conclusion that it was a recording of Helena herself. Although the quality of the sound is poor, a well-developed voice can be heard singing Pie Jesu from Fauré's 'Requiem'. Research had previously indicated that, although of humble origins, Helena had had in front of her a promising career as a concert singer. Thanks to the Internet and a minor accident a truly haunting cry now echoes down the decades and across the ether. for the sound.

Irelandseye.com plans to continue the great Irish Ghostwatch and research further the mysterious death of Helena Blunden.
