Ardpatton Farmhouse
Cavangarden, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal

A comfortable, informal seventeenth-century farmhouse set in its own grounds, with over 380 acres for beef cattle. The kitchen used to be the local school, and the house was the local post office. The present owners have modernised the house, with only 2 of the original bedrooms remaining. Six bedrooms have en-suite facilities, and all have TVs. The bedrooms are all spacious, fresh and clean, with views over the countryside. Fires are lit on most days in both the lounge and dining room. Breakfasts include freshly baked scones, cereals, juice and a full cooked breakfast.

Evening meals are available, if prearranged; light meals including salads and sandwiches are also served. No smoking in bedrooms. Pets welcome. Just 3 miles (4.5km) to Ballyshannon and the restored mill, and 11 miles (16.5km) from Donegal. There is a tearoom and craft centre on the premises.
