Edenvale House
Portaferry Road, Newtownards, Co. Down

Approached up a long driveway, Edenvale House is a small Georgian country house located above Strangford Lough. It stands in its own grounds surrounded by fields, and is immaculately kept, both inside and out. Diane Whyte is a welcoming host, and the atmosphere is informal and relaxed. The house has been beautifully furnished and decorated with great taste, and there are lovely views from the first floor rooms. Guests generally prefer to have breakfast, which includes fried potato bread and hot homemade bread, in the large kitchen at the big kitchen table.

Diane's daughter looks after the livery business, and guests are welcome to bring their horses. The beautifully kept stables and barn lie to the side of the house, and within the half a hectare of gardens is a croquet lawn. Pets can be accommodated in the kennels or stables. Smoking is only allowed in the sun room. Edenvale House can be found 3 km from Newtownards on the Portaferry road.
