Iona House

Dublin

This attractive red brick residence was built at the turn of the century and is situated in one of Dublin's unique Victorian quarters. Jack and Karen Shouldice bought the property in 1963, which they have refurbished to provide comfortable accommodation with a taste of luxury. The décor and furnishings are rich and tasteful, and several original features remain, such as attractive coving, a ceiling rose and a marble fireplace. Fine prints adorn the walls, and the spacious lounge, with a predominantly green décor, is available to guests, as is a furnished patio. The bedrooms are of a good size, well-appointed and colour co-ordinated. Breakfasts are served in the dining room, which has booth-style tables, and there are several venues for evening meals within walking distance. The house is well situated for the airport and convenient to the city centre.
