Irish Haunted Castle

Every Irish castle is haunted, either by the real spectres from Ireland's often bloody history, or by the imagination of those inspired by the architecture and isolation of so many of the buildings and ruins that haunt the Irish landscape.

Some of the best-documented ghost sightings in Ireland are Ballygalley Castle, both an Irish haunted castle and an attractive hotel, and the very haunted Irish castle of Leap, in County Offaly, where evil deeds from centuries ago still echo.

Haunted Irish castles are of course sometimes the romantic imaginings of tourists and storytellers. It is up to the visitor to decide which castles are truly haunted.
