iron cutter in front of a plough-share

cowp
overturn

crane
that part of fire furniture on which a crook is hung

crock
earthenware vessel in which cream is kept

crook
that part of fire furniture on which pots are hung

dale/ daler
someone who buys and sells livestock, aiming to make a profit (dealer)

deal
haggle down price or reach an agreement

dress (flax)
straighten, set in order

drugget
woven and felted coarse woollen fabric

dung-hill
heap of dung or animal manure

dyke
trench (or the earth dug out and thrown up)

earnest (earls)
coin given by a farmer to someone who has been hired at a fair

farina
a mealy powder; ground corn

farrow
give birth (to piglets etc.)

fief
land held in fee or on condition of military service

flannel
soft woollen cloth of loose texture

flummery
an acid jelly made from the rusks of oats, sowens
