dispute price; to be difficult in bargaining

Happoth
half-penny worth; meaning nothing e.g. not a happoth

Hoke
scoop out; root – like a pig

Kant
market where people shout out to draw attention to their wares

Lammas
first of August

Lap
small quantity of hay rolled over the arm and set down so that the wind blows through it

luck-penny
small return made to the purchaser

madrig
saddle packed with straw
