rick (ruck)
small stack, heap (of hay etc.)

rickle
small pile of turf

rundale
system of land in single holdings made up of detached pieces

scollop
rod used to fasten thatch

scour (potatoes)
cultivate and remould into drills to keep ground clear of weeds

shaft
handle of shovel or other implement

shamble
butcher’s market stall

shambles
flesh-market, slaughter house

sheltie (shelty / shilty)
Shetland pony

sheuch (sheugh, shugh)
trench or ditch

shill
separate husks or pods from grain etc.

sloop
one-masted, cutter rigged vessel with fixed bow-sprit; light boat
