Yellow Pimpernel Lysimachia nemorum/p>

Yellow Pimpernel (another name is Woodland Loosestrife) is a smallcreeping perennial. The flowers are five-petalled, wide open and aclear yellow. The leaves are oval and grow opposite each other. It mustnot be confused with the related Creeping Jenny (Lysimachianummularia) which has cup-shaped and larger flowers.
Yellow pimpernel is common in Ireland on damp mountain pastures and in woods with damp soils.
Flowering time is from May to September.
It is native to the damper parts of Britain and is found throughout Europe.
